Meghan Balogh has been in love with horses for as long as she can remember. Growing up Toronto did not provide much opportunity for interaction with the objects of her affection, but in '98 she and her family moved to a small hobby farm north of Kingston, Ontario. She got her first horse, a big grey Percheron cross gelding named Casey, soon after.
Recent graduate of the Loyalist College photojournalism program in Belleville, Ontario, Meghan works as a freelance writer and photographer for two community newspapers in her area. She is also a Level 2 certified barefoot hoofcare practitioner with Nature's Barefoot Hoofcare Guild, and has been working part-time as a hoof trimmer for close to five years.
Her love for horses has never waned, and she feels blessed to be able to work with horses through photography and farriery on a regular basis. Today she is the happy owner of two geldings: Casey, a 12-year-old 15.2 Percheron cross gelding, and F.E. Descant ("Darcy") a 3-year-old 17.2 Canadian Sport Horse gelding.
